English day 2019 (横浜町立横浜中学校）

Spring 2019

This spring Yokohama Junior High School in Aomori Prefecture hosted a special “English Day,” where students spoke English exclusively for one school-day and engaged with native English speakers through games and group conversations. To kick off the event I was tasked with making a multi-lingual video that introduced the special theme of the day, activities, and schedule to the students and Japanese staff.

Taking this as an opportunity to practice scoring to picture, I also decided to learn how to create basic 2D animations using CrazyTalk Animator 3 Pro and then edited the final video in Final Cut Pro.

Images and non-original animation were accessed on Pixabay and いらすとや. To the best of my knowledge all images used for this educational video are under the creative commons-license that specifies “free use without attribution” and the Japanese equivalent.
